The mission of Red Earth RISING is to work with global partners to empower women and girls through education, training and sustainable individual and community economic development.

 

Red Earth RISING is a non profit that believes in working with and beside women in developing countries to support their goal of rising above their poverty, illiteracy and abuse.

 

Our projects are chosen based on their efficacy, sensitivity to the local community as well as its sustainability. We believe that every girl should be able to go to school and live her life free from violence.

More than a billion people live in poverty worldwide, approximately 70% are women.  Nearly 800 million people cannot read or write, two-thirds are women.  Women do up to 80% of the work on farms, although they own only one-hundreth of the property.  They do 66% of the world’s work, but receive only 10% of the pay.

 

But when given a chance through microcredit, women reinvest 90% of their income in their families and communities.
