Back In Uganda

Now back in Uganda, Gina is implementing Red Earth RISING’s “Future Institute” along with the help of local experts.

The Future Institute was designed to empower the women of the Acholi Quarter. Open to all women of the Quarter, the training involved Women’s Health care, English Literacy, Women’s Leadership, gender based violence as well as a day on Business Skills including business planning, budgeting, marketing and savings.

Only the women who applied and were chosen for a Red Earth RISING loan were included in the business training. Now, the loans have been awarded and these amazing women are ready to put all of this knowledge to work! They will meet monthly in their “Trust Circles” where they will receive continued training, mentor each other and hold each other accountable for all the loans received.
